Characters of Aflas ® Fluororubber:
Aflas ® Fluorine rubber is FEPM tetrapropylene fluororubber developed by Asahi Nippon in 1975. It is a fluorine rubber that is very different from the commonly known fluorine rubber FKM. Aflas ® Fluorine rubber has excellent durability to alkalis and amines due to its molecular structure. And it also has heat resistance and electrical insulation. Due to its excellent steam resistance, it can be used in applications where other fluororubber (FKM) cannot be used.
The main reason why it differs from other fluororubber is its molecular structure. FKM contains a monomer structure called vinylidene fluoride, which makes FKM less durable to alkalis. On the contrary, FKM has better durability to gasoline and low temperature softness. Therefore, Aflas ® is a fluororubber with completely different characteristics from FKM.
Aflas ® The typical properties of fluororubber are as follows:
1. Alkali and amine resistance
Due to its unique molecular structure, it has outstanding alkali and amine resistance.
2. Steam resistance
For high-temperature and high-pressure steam, it has excellent durability. (But AFLAS ® Except for 200 series)
3. Electrical insulation
The inherent resistance of the volume has excellent insulation performance of 10-16 poles. It also has excellent insulation performance for high voltage.
4. Heat resistance
It can be continuously used at a temperature of 200 ℃, and has excellent heat resistance to 250 ℃ in a short period of time.
5. Acid resistance
For strong acids such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, it also has excellent acid resistance.
6 Oil resistance
Has excellent oil resistance. Especially for oils with added polyamine anti acid agents, they also have excellent durability. Moreover, especially for C heavy oil, its durability is superior to other rubbers.
