Vacuum suction cup mounting rods for end-of-arm tooling

IKSONIC vacuum suction cup buffer rods provide mounting and axial travel options for vacuum-cup assemblies in end-of-arm tooling. The range includes XPT small-head and DPT large-head configurations, with rotating and anti-rotation designs. Select the complete model together with its head size, mounting thread and standard, short or extended-thread construction; similar model names do not always describe the same installation envelope.

These are mounting accessories for a vacuum-cup assembly, rather than a complete vacuum gripping system. Match the rod to the cup connection, tool plate and vacuum connection required by your equipment. Cups, brackets and other accessories appearing in application photographs are not automatically included in the supplied configuration.

Model key and connection specifications

The number within a model identifier is a selection designation, not a substitute for its dimensioned stroke. For example, the standard A10 model 20 is drawn with 21 mm of travel. Always use the relevant dimensional reference rather than assuming that every model number equals its actual stroke.

Available model and construction choices

The following 42 choices retain the distinction between small and large heads, rotating and anti-rotation rods, and the separately listed short and extended-thread versions. A8 and A10 identify the mounting-thread series. Where a short version shares a model code with a standard version, include the word Short in the enquiry.

Standard A10 dimensional reference

All values in this table are in millimetres. J/K means that the drawing identifies both the J rotating and K anti-rotation model in that row. Overall length is the full length dimension shown in the drawing; head OD is the suction-cup mounting-head outside diameter. This table does not define A8 models, short versions or extended-thread versions.

Use these dimensions to compare the available space around the tool plate and cup connection. A longer overall length and a longer stroke are different requirements: check each independently, together with the space needed for the vacuum connection and mounting nuts. Confirm the selected assembly dimensions before finalising a replacement or a new tooling layout.

Selecting a rod for the tooling layout

• Start with the cup interface. Identify the required small- or large-head connection and check the cup’s actual mating geometry. Head outside diameter alone does not establish compatibility with every suction cup.
• Choose the motion design. Specify J rotating or K anti-rotation according to the orientation required in the finished assembly. Neither designation is a load or holding-force rating.
• Check both threads. The B5 vacuum connection and the A8/A10 mounting connection perform different functions. Supply the tool-plate thread details and connection arrangement rather than selecting by appearance.
• Check the installed envelope. Compare the required axial travel, overall length and clearance around adjoining tooling. Short and extended-thread options need their own dimensional confirmation.
• Define the supply scope. State the rod quantity and any cup or mounting accessories required separately. Do not infer a complete assembly or pack quantity from the display photographs.

Information for a precise enquiry

Send the full model designation, head type, J or K design, construction version and quantity. For replacements, include the measured mounting thread and pitch, cup connection dimensions, available overall length and required travel. A dimensioned sketch or clear photographs of the mating components help distinguish a standard rod from a short or extended-thread version that carries a similar code.
